Why do I have Poor Audio/Video Quality on my Event?

If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality, it is likely a network issue.

Usually, if you are having trouble hearing or seeing people on Toucan, it is caused by a poor network connection between a user and our servers. It is also possible that there is significant network congestion.

In order to verify the root of the problem, we would ask that you check your network connection. You can do so here.

We use media servers located in different regions and choose the best one for each event. Depending on where other people are, the media server may be far away from your location which could introduce some latency. Sometimes there may be temporary network congestion between your location and our servers. This usually gets resolved within a few minutes.

You can always reduce upstream bandwidth usage by turning off your camera.
